| The rebab of Morocco's Sous region is a fiddle with a wooden framed body covered with goat skin and a single string made of horse hair. The curved wooden bow is strung with horse hair as well. It's an incredibly difficult instrument to play because the string of the rebab is not fretted on the neck's finger board but is instead fretted directly against the finger itself. The rebab of the Sous region can be heard in the music of the Rwais either as a solo instrument or accompanied by the lotar. |
